Balancing the Tension
Before you attempt to balance the tension consult your operators manual for proper threading, also make sure there is no foreign matter in the tensions.

A. The knot (loop) formed on the bottom of the fabric is from the top thread.
REMEDY: Increase the upper tension to “4” or higher.
Decrease the bobbin case tension very slightly.
Make sure upper tension is threaded correctly, if not loops will be very
obvious, perhaps to the point of balling up on the bottom of the fabric.
B. Tensions of upper and lower threads are correctly balanced if both threads interlock in the center of the fabric.
C. The knot (loop) formed on the top of the fabric is from the bottom thread (bobbin case).
REMEDY: Decrease the upper tension to 4 or less.
Increase the bobbin case tension very slightly.
Make sure the bobbin case is threaded correctly.
If you are not comfortable performing this or any adjustment take your machine and control to your local dealer.
