Slide Plates and Slide Plate Springs It is very common to have nicks and burrs on the needle plate due to the close proximity of the needle entering the hole in the needle plate. It is important to remove the nicks and burrs which could cause puckering, snagging of the fabric and/or thread, thread looping and/or breaking.
