This system is unique in allowing the feet to be changed utilizing a lever located on the back of the presser foot bar. Most feet for this system are in limited supply or no longer available. It is my personal opinion, this Kenmore series is one of the best mechanical sewing machine built. This machine seldom needs serious repairs; although it does like to be oiled often. If you have one keep it, if you don't have one try to find one. It is our commitment to you and to this great classic to keep it running with parts and accessories. UPDATE - Our technicians have devised a conversion kit whereas you can use new style snap-on feet and also still be able to use your old style "super high feet" that came with your original sewing machine. See below...  You can now convert your super high Kenmore to accept the new style snap-on presser feet (Type B) and still use the old style presser feet that came with your machine. Remove the old style system #11, 12, 13, 14, additional directions will be provided with the new kit. Some feet such as walking foot will require this conversion. |

The walking foot (even feed/dual feed) is designed to feed the top and bottom layers of the fabric at the same time. The feed teeth on the foot work in conjunction with the feed teeth on the sewing machine moving the layers in unison.
